Key Messages

  • Canada’s Drug Agency (CDA-AMC) recommends that Imdelltra be reimbursed by public drug plans for the treatment of patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) with disease progression on or after platinum-based chemotherapy, if certain conditions are met.
  • The pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review Expert Review Committee (pERC) determined that Imdelltra demonstrates acceptable clinical value versus standard of care (SOC) chemotherapy in patients with ES-SCLC whose disease progressed on or after platinum-based chemotherapy. This determination was enough for pERC to recommend that Imdelltra be reimbursed. Given that Imdelltra is expected to be an alternative to SOC chemotherapy, acceptable clinical value refers to at least comparable value versus SOC chemotherapy.
  • Evidence from a clinical trial (the DeLLphi-304 trial) showed that, in adult patients with ES-SCLC whose disease progressed on or after platinum-based chemotherapy, treatment with Imdelltra is likely to prolong patients’ lives and may delay disease progression compared with SOC chemotherapy. Additionally, compared with SOC chemotherapy, Imdelltra may improve patients’ quality of life and relieve symptoms such as shortness of breath. Other important outcomes reported from the trial, including objective response rate, duration of response, and disease control rate, provided further evidence of the benefits of Imdelltra in patients with ES-SCLC.
